THE JOB:

Persephone is seeking a self-motivated and professional Sous Chef to be the
second in command to the Executive Chef. The successful candidate will employ
its culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in the
execution of the menu, organization, kitchen cleanliness, staffing needs,
scheduling, and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and design of all menus
- Produce high quality and cuisine both in design and taste
- Ensure kitchen operates in a timely manner 
- Works alongside EC in planning and directing food prep
- Resourcefully solves any issues that arise and seize control of any
problematic situation with a calm and caring demeanor
- Manage and train kitchen staff, establish a working schedule and assess
staff’s performance
- Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
- Maintains impeccable organization and cleanliness standards
- Comply with and enforce ServSafe sanitation regulations and safety
standards
- Maintain a friendly, positive, and professional approach with coworkers
and customers

Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef with excellent references
- Understanding of vast cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and
procedures
- Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing
solutions
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office,
Drive, restaurant management software, POS, and email)
- Friendly and courteous to staff and customers
- BS degree in Culinary Arts or related industry certificate preferred

This is a full-time position where the salary will be dependent on and commensurate with the candidates experience.  We offer insurance coverage and 401K plan based on tenure, in addition to paid vacation in the spring and the fall.
