As a FOH Register employee at Persephone, you are responsible for greeting and serving all customers in line, executing your role in accordance with the service guidelines and goals of the company. As you work the register position you will handle orders, answer menu questions and collect payments from customers. With the support of the team, you will ensure that all visitors are attended to professionally and promptly while making them feel like they are a part of our café community. All register employees need to be able to think on their feet and work both fast and accurately, with a friendly demeanor. They need to be flexible and calm in high stress moments, and ready to collaborate and work alongside other team members to provide an excellent service experience for all guests.
RESPONSIBILITEIS:
Extend a warm welcome to every customer who walks through the door and thank all leaving guests.
Direct customers so they are understanding of the style of service.
Maintain a well-informed knowledge of the menu in the café (pastry, coffee and kitchen) and services available.
Take orders quickly and kindly, confirming there are no mistakes and all questions have been answered.
Proficiently work the register, using the POS system Clover, and be familiar with all POS actions and abilities.
Handle all credit and cash transactions with precise and careful money handling, to make sure the cash drawer is accurate at the end of each shift.
Constantly organize and clean the front pastry display area to make sure the presentation is plentiful, beautiful and appealing.
Clear tables and help maintain a clean café when no customers are in line.
Actively communicate with the BOH team when necessary to ensure seamless food service.
Respond to complaints and issues from customers in a polite and professional manner in accordance with restaurant policy, getting management assistance when needed.
Assist with new employee training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
Work hard with a supportive team to deliver impeccable customer service and connect with all our restaurant guests.
Perform café opening and closing duties.
